This breathtaking and unique new construction home in Edgewater, NJ is extremely modern, featuring exposed concrete walls and a huge embrace of natural light and river views.
The kitchen design embraces this modern approach with a soapstone countertop, a light color scheme, and use of eco cement in the adjacent office space, also designed by Modiani. Eco cement panels were also used in the kitchen to create an aesthetic theme between the kitchen and office space and the rest of the home.
To embrace the openness of the architectural design of the home, functional kitchen spaces are broken up into individual freestanding elements, with dividers used to promote division of space while maintaining the open-air quality of the overall residence. Even though the space is broken up, windows can be seen from anywhere within the home.
A unique finishing touch of this space is that the divider element between the kitchen and workout space beyond it was covered with finishing to match the kitchen on the top so that when it is viewed from the second floor, it is as aesthetically pleasing as the rest of the home. Design was infused into nearly every angle of this space.
